    Has your question been answered?
  • I have accepted my quote but I haven’t received a policy – why?

    New policyholder
Once you have accepted your insurance quote, we are immediately notified. We then process your quote. We strive to have your policy ready within two to three weeks. Occasionally the processing time takes a little longer. The processing time does not affect whether you are covered or not. As soon as you have accepted your insurance, you are covered.

    Switching insurance companies
If IDA Forsikring is taking over your insurance from another company, we will send a cancellation notice to your current company. You will receive your policy approx. one week before the insurance begins with us. Your current company will cover you until IDA Forsikring takes over the insurance.

    Has your question been answered?
  • Does my insurance cover me even if I haven’t received my policy?

Yes, you’re covered, even if you haven’t received a policy. When you prepare an insurance quote, you have to state the day you want to be covered from (only applies when switching insurance companies). If you buy e.g. travel insurance that you accept on 21 November, that’s the date you are covered from. So you can go on holiday even if you haven’t received your policy.

For car, home and holiday home insurance
If you have bought car insurance, you will be covered from the car’s registration date. Home and holiday home insurance applies from the date you take over your home/holiday home.

  • How is an accident defined?

An accident is defined by a sudden occurrence causing personal injury. The occurrence doesn’t have to be external from e.g. a push or collision but could also be caused by, for example, a twist, a trip, or a fall.

    Has your question been answered?
  • Who is covered?

Accident insurance is personal and generally only covers the person who has taken out the insurance (the policy holder).

However, your partner, spouse and/or any children living at home over 18 years old can also take out insurance – even if YOU don’t have accident insurance. If you buy insurance through our online insurance calculator, please remember to add the people you want to insure.

    Has your question been answered?
  • How is the compensation calculated?

    Physical and psychological permanent disabilities

    • Compensation for permanent impairment is paid as a percentage of the insured sum corresponding to a diagnosed permanent impairment. Payment is made as a lump sum.
    • The compensation is calculated based on the permanent disability table
    • The degree of impairment is determined after the effects of the accident consistently determined.
    • The severity of disability determines the amount of compensation.

Remember to let us know if you are using a scooter, a moped 45 or a motorcycle in your spare time. If it is not stated in the subscription of the insurance, the compensation can be reduced.

    Dental trauma
If you fall and chip/break a tooth or otherwise need treatment with a dentist after the accident, your accident insurance covers reasonable and necessary expenses. However, the insurance does not cover dental trauma caused by the boxing or practicing other martial arts.

The compensation may be reduced if you have had problems with your teeth before the accident. For example, it may be disease, impaired condition in dental prostheses, abrasion, root treatment, etc. Likewise, the compensation amount may not exceed the amount you will receive with healthy teeth if the teeth next to the injured tooth are already missing or damaged.

    Death
Your insured sum is individual and is stated in the agreement you have signed with us. If a compensation sum has been paid before death, this amount will be deducted before paying for a death.

    Funeral
If children under the age of 18 die in an accident, an amount of DKK 50,000 will be paid for funeral expenses.

  • Which injuries can become permanent?

All injuries and accidents could potentially become permanent invalidities of 5 % or more. A permanent invalidity is defined as a physical invalidity following an accident that doesn’t go away with treatment and which you therefore have to live with for the rest of your life.

It tends to be sports injuries, traffic accidents, falls or ski injuries that lead to permanent invalidities in e.g. the back, neck, ankles and knees, or breaks to the wrists, elbows, ankles and knees.

Remember that your accident insurance only covers dangerous sports if you have picked the additional cover for ‘dangerous sports’.

If you have an accident that is covered by your insurances and where you suffer a degree of invalidity of 5 % or more, you will receive compensation from both accident insurances.
