
Without Travel Insurance on your holiday abroad, you could be liable for medical treatment, hospitalisation, and repatriation if you fall ill or suffer an injury. It could add up to hundreds of thousands of DKK if you need transportation back home after a broken leg or if you fall ill while travelling outside Europe.
In addition, your Travel Insurance also covers luggage delays or if war, epidemics, or terrorism occur and you need evacuation.
The yellow health insurance card no longer covers travel abroad. Instead, you must carry the blue EU health insurance card when travelling within the EU or the EEA (Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein).
The EU Blue Card is not a substitute for travel insurance. The EU Blue Card covers the cost of necessary medical and hospital care under the same conditions as residents.

If you purchased Travel Insurance before 1 June 2022, your Europe cover does not include Turkey.

If you purchased Travel Insurance with Extended or Super cover after 1 June 2022, or Travel Insurance before 1 June 2022, you can claim compensation for lost travel days. If you purchased Basic Travel Insurance after 1 June 2022, the policy does not include cover for lost travel days, and you cannot add it.
