
IDA Forsikring now offers an improved Travel Insurance policy.
You do not switch to the new Travel Insurance automatically. You can choose to switch yourself and start enjoying all the benefits of the new policy right away.
Here are 8 good reasons to switch to the new Travel Insurance:
Cancellation cover applies to your planned trip if a close relative falls ill or dies, preventing you from travelling.
Close relatives include members of your household and shared children, as well as children living elsewhere, a spouse or partner in care, and grandchildren, parents-in-law, children-in-law, siblings, parents, grandparents and great-grandparents, foster parents, brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts.
Your policy sets the insured travel amount as follows:
Europe, including Turkey: DKK 90,000
Worldwide: DKK 180,000

If the authorities require isolation or quarantine after a coronavirus outbreak, you can claim compensation for ruined travel days with the Extended and Super packages.
If a person in your household becomes so ill that hospitalisation is required, you will also receive compensation for ruined travel days under the new policy.
You get straight access to Tryg Medical Hotline, where you can talk to a Danish physician if you fall ill during your holiday and need advice.

Have you rented a holiday home or an Airbnb for your holiday, only to find it completely useless? Our new Travel Insurance will cover additional accommodation and food expenses in a similar rented lodge, house, or flat.
If the airline delays your flight or your baggage, your Travel Insurance with Extended or Super cover lets you claim expenses for accommodation, meals and essential items after 5 hours.
If you miss your flight through no fault of your own, you can also claim compensation.
Do you plan to hire a car, motorcycle or another vehicle on your trip?
If you have Travel Insurance with Extended or Super cover, it covers you if the vehicle is damaged and you must pay an excess. The cover includes a fixed amount of DKK 25,000, which you can also see on My Page.

Does your destination require a travel vaccination? With Travel Insurance Super, everyone in your household gets a free travel vaccine. Please note that the insurance covers one vaccine per insured person during the policy period.

If you go on an active holiday, for example, a golf or cycling trip, and fall ill or sustain an injury, you can claim compensation for the lost travel days.
Please note that if you go on a skiing holiday, you must add "Ski – lost travel days" and "Ski – injury cover" to receive coverage if you purchased your travel insurance after June 9, 2026.
