At IDA Forsikring, we regularly review and update our insurance products to ensure they reflect the world we live in today.
In recent years, we have seen a significant increase in weather-related claims, while the cost of repairing damage to homes has also risen considerably. As a result, we are increasing premiums and updating the terms of our Building Insurance to reflect better the level of risk and the cost of providing cover.
Your premium will increase, and your insurance terms will change.
You can find details of how these changes affect your premium in the letter you received in e-Boks. The prices shown include taxes and duties but exclude any billing fees. You can read more about fees and charges on our website.
Over the past year, IDA Forsikring has adjusted premiums on selected insurance products for several reasons. We're transparent about the reasons for these changes. You can read more about the new pricing on our website.
Your chosen excess will not change as a result of the new terms.
The new Building Insurance policy includes the same cover categories as your current policy. However, we have updated the content of several cover options. Some changes introduce clearer requirements and limitations, while others improve your cover. Overall, these changes better reflect homeowners' expectations of insurance today.
For example, the updated terms provide clearer definitions of when damage caused by frozen pipes or damage to external drainage pipes is covered.
Examples of improvements include:
You can view the key differences between the old and new Building Insurance policies here.
If you have a greenhouse or orangery, please note that under your current Building Insurance policy it may be included in the registered area for outbuildings.
Under the new Building Insurance policy, greenhouses and orangeries are covered separately for up to DKK 15,000.
If your greenhouse or orangery is currently included in the outbuilding area, please let us know. When reporting the area of your property, you should provide the total area of outbuildings, garages, sheds, carports and similar structures, excluding the greenhouse or orangery.
You can find information about the new Building Insurance policy on our website.

If you do not wish to continue your insurance with IDA Forsikring, you must notify us before the changes take effect.
The easiest solution is to ask your new insurer to send us a cancellation notice on your behalf. This is also required if you have a mortgage on your property and wish to cancel the fire cover.
