Get greater peace of mind when you change jobs

When you change jobs, you leave behind your notice period - and the financial security it provides. With job change insurance, you retain your previous job's notice period, giving you the same financial security you are used to.

Job Change Insurance

IDA Forsikring's job change insurance lets you retain your notice period when changing jobs, providing greater financial security.

Why do you need job change insurance?

Job change insurance provides you with the financial flexibility to pursue the next step in your career according to your goals and ambitions, rather than being driven by financial necessity. Here are three compelling reasons to consider this insurance.

Get cover for up to 12 months - depending on your notice period

Job change insurance enables you to switch jobs confidently while maintaining your extended notice period.

You're covered from day one in your new job

There is no waiting period. Your cover starts on your first day in a new job and lasts up to 12 months if your employer terminates your employment involuntarily.

You receive 90% of your salary

Job change insurance provides financial security by paying up to 90% of your salary, up to DKK 40,000 per month. This insurance supplements unemployment benefits if your employer involuntarily dismisses you.

More benefits of job change insurance

When you change jobs, your notice period in your new position often becomes shorter than the notice period in the job you leave. For example, your notice period may drop from five months to one month. This reduction increases the financial risk to your personal finances if your employer dismisses you involuntarily from your new job.

Job change insurance allows you to carry over your previous notice period and receive up to 90% of your gross salary in your new job.

If you become involuntarily unemployed within the first 12 months of your new job because your employer decides that the role does not match your profile or because the position is made redundant, the insurance pays out up to 90% of your gross salary (maximum DKK 40,000 per month). The insurance pays benefits for a period corresponding to your former notice period.

The insurance has no waiting period. You receive payments from the day your salary stops. Job change insurance, therefore, suits you if you are in the middle of a job change and want financial security from your first working day in your new job.

Is IDA Forsikring's job change insurance the same as IDA Forsikring's salary insurance?

No, IDA Forsikring's job change insurance is not the same as IDA Forsikring's supplemental unemployment insurance. Both insurance products provide financial cover if you become involuntarily unemployed, but there are also important differences.

  • You can have supplemental unemployment insurance throughout your working life, whereas job change insurance applies only during the first 12 months of your new job.
  • If your employer makes you redundant within the first 12 months of your new job, job change insurance allows you to retain the notice period from your previous job. Supplemental Unemployment Insurance does not link coverage to the length of your notice period.
  • Supplemental unemployment insurance includes a waiting period, whereas job change insurance provides coverage from your first working day.
  • Supplemental unemployment insurance includes an excess period, whereas job change insurance does not.
  • You take out supplemental unemployment insurance while you are employed to secure your finances in the long term. You take out job change insurance when you are facing a job change and want to protect your existing notice period during the first 12 months of your new job.
  • Please note that you cannot take out job change insurance if you already have supplemental unemployment insurance.
