What should I do if I sell my company car?

If you sell your company car, please be aware that the insurance provides liability and comprehensive coverage for the new owner for up to three weeks after the vehicle ownership transfer, if the new owner does not take out car insurance.

Liability coverage is compulsory when you own a car, and therefore you cannot cancel the insurance policy. It is only possible after a new registration of the vehicle ownership transfer at SKAT. 

Remember that if you buy a new car through a dealer, they fill out the paperwork. However, if you buy the vehicle through a private person, it is your responsibility to fill out the papers.
