Understand your policy insurance and coverage

I have agreed to the insurance quote, but I still need to obtain a policy 

You must proceed differently depending on whether you have changed companies or bought new insurance. 

New Insurance 

As soon as you accept the quote, we will receive a notification and begin processing your policy. We strive to have it ready within two to three weeks, although the processing time may be longer in some cases.

Please note that the waiting time does not affect your coverage.

I have switched to a different insurance company 

"If you switch to IDA Forsikring from another insurance company, we will send the termination notice to your current company. You can expect to receive your new policy approximately one week before the effective date of your new insurance. 

Irrespective of whether you need new insurance or simply changing companies, you can expect to receive your policy through e-boks or email, depending on your registration preferences. If you are not registered for either, we will send your policy by post."

Does my insurance cover me even if I don't have a policy? 

Yes, it does. The policy does not affect whether you are insured. You will be covered when you accept a quote from IDA Forsikring unless you specify a different insurance starting date. 

If you switch to IDA Forsikring, your insurance company will cover you until we take over the insurance. 

Once you receive your policy, you can check on My Page if the insurance is provided in collaboration with Tryg.

When was my car insured?

Statutory liability insurance provides coverage from the day you register your car. Additional insurance add-ons purchased will be in force from the day you accept your insurance quote from IDA Forsikring.

When will my new house or holiday home be insured? 

If you purchase a house or holiday home, your insurance coverage will not begin until the day you take ownership. This peculiarity distinguishes these insurance policies from others.

What should I keep in mind while reading my insurance overview? 

Please note that in the insurance overview, you can only view insurance policies for which you are the policyholder. Here are some essential points to keep in mind:

- Insurance policies you have taken out within the last 4-6 weeks will not appear in the overview.
- Insurance policies that have been terminated will remain on the table until their termination date.
- All insurance products listed in the overview are offered solely through Tryg.
