Car Insurance bought before 1 March 2023

By adding this optional coverage, you avoid paying excess if the damage to your car is due to - for example:

• Fire, lightning, and explosion
• Theft, robbery, and vandalism
• Falling objects
• Collision with animals
• Replacement of lens and mirror glass
• Possible windshield damage repairs – e.g., stone chip

If it is necessary to replace a windshield, your excess is DKK1,500.

You can only buy this insurance add-on if you have comprehensive coverage.

Roadside assistance helps you with, among other things, on-site start-up assistance, towing, further transportation of the driver and passengers, as well as assistance in the event of illness or injury while driving.

Avoid paying an additional excess of DKK 3,409 (2022), which usually applies if a car accident occurs involving directly your child or grandchild, under the age of 26, who is part of your household and used the car. Please remember that you can only borrow the car to your child or grandchildren occasionally and that they cannot be permanent users of your vehicle.

Your kids build up a no claim record for every year they have a driving license (but a maximum of three years in total). This record can be used later when they need to take out car insurance through IDA Forsikring or Tryg. You can read more about this in terms and conditions, section 5.3

If you get injured as driver of a car, then you are covered for:

• Permanent disability
• Loss of earnings
• Ability to work

Your family is also covered by the driver's insurance:

• Financial loss of dependents
• Aid to funeral care

This option is beneficial if you lease a car (leasing period expanding from 6 to 48 months). For instance, Tryg Leasing will cover minor claims not exceeding DKK 5,000 (including VAT) – yet a total amount of DKK 25,000 for several small claims together including your excess DKK 5000.

Today, if your car is stolen or in case of total loss, you will not get back your first-time leasing payments from the dealer. Tryg Leasing offers you a full or partial refund of the lost payments for up to four years from the date the leasing contract was issued.

How to take out Tryg Leasing

This option can only be taken out along comprehensive coverage, and when the rental car is on white vehicle registration plate and no more than four years old. Please pay particular attention that the option must have been in effect for at least six months in order to be entitled to coverage.

Avoid paying insurance excess in parking lot accidents (claims up to DKK15,000). The insurance covers when you legally park your car, do some errands, and someone damages it while you are away. In other words, a Hit-and-Run accident.

Only car owners with comprehensive coverage can buy this insurance add-on.

You are entitled to a loan car from a designated workshop for up to 35 days, if you have to live without your car because of:

• Theft or robbery
• Total loss
• Comprehensive claims filed prior to a scheduled road trip

By taking this option you are also covered for the excess that the dealer may demand from you.

We recommend you this option if you have installed additional equipment in your auto for more than DKK 30,000. The following illustrative parts are considered additional equipment:

• Car rims
• Electronic equipment
• Chassis and engine swap
• Leather Interior
• Sun, panorama and sliding roofs

Towing hitches and safety equipment are not defined as additional equipment or accessories.

In addition to your car insurance, you can secure you against car depreciation as a result of a major damage. If the car is to be repaired for DKK 21,687 or more, you can be compensated with 10% of the expenses. Please note that the compensation can not exceed DKK 45,081 (2023).

You can only take out this option along comprehensive and if the car is not leased.
