When do payouts start?

Do you know when you will receive your first payment from the Supplemental Unemployment Insurance and need some assistance figuring it out.

Payments Supplemental Unemployment Insurance
To receive benefits from your Supplemental Unemployment Insurance, you must have had continuous employment for at least 12 months when you become aware of your unemployment. After a waiting period of six months from purchase, the insurance makes the first payout 60 days after you become unemployed. This period includes a 30-day insurance excess period and a 30-day accrual period.

Example

For example, if you lose your job on January 1, your insurance coverage will begin on February 1, 30 days later. February is considered a vesting period; you will receive your first benefit payment on March 1.If you go on vacation while unemployed, the days you spend on vacation will still be counted towards the 30 days of persistent unemployment.Read more about Supplemental Unemployment Insurance.
