What support will you get?

IDA Outplacement provides targeted job search strategy tools to clarify skills, profiles, and career choices.

You'll also receive help in addressing fundamental questions that often arise post-termination, helping you progress effectively:

  •  What does the job market look like?
  • What are my professional and personal skills?
  • What do I want?
  • How can I best market myself?
  • Should I consider changing direction or industry?
  • How can I move forward, and where do I begin?

You can initiate an outplacement programme when you receive your termination notice, eliminating the need to wait until your employment ends, thus ensuring a more efficient path forward.

Does the IDA Outplacement programme work?

Based on our experience, 92 per cent of participants secure a new job before completing the programme. Within the notice period, 71 per cent secure new employment.

This figure indicates that most individuals prefer not to rely on unemployment benefits. Keep in mind that while an IDA Outplacement programme can support your job search, it doesn't guarantee a new job.

Who will assist you?

Throughout the programme, dedicated career consultants - either from IDA or affiliated with IDA - will guide and support you.

All guidance providers possess extensive knowledge of the job market for IDA members, ensuring you work with someone who understands your opportunities and challenges.

What does an Outplacement Programme include?

In an IDA Outplacement programme, you'll navigate the entire job search process with your career consultant. Together, you'll identify the jobs you want to apply for, and you'll receive support in crafting your CV, job applications, and interview preparations.

You'll work with your career advisor to customise your outplacement programme based on your specific needs. While the content varies, typical areas of focus include:

  • Identifying your personal and professional skills.
  • Taking a personality test to gain insights into your personality type.
  • Developing a targeted job search plan.
  • Clarifying your career aspirations.
  • Understanding what companies value.
  • Crafting a compelling CV and persuasive job applications, including unsolicited applications.
  • Preparing to present yourself effectively during job interviews.
  • Learning how to leverage your network, particularly on LinkedIn.

An outplacement programme gives you professional guidance across all aspects of your career - from job searching to clarifying your goals.

What is the programme duration?

A counselling programme typically includes 6–10 meetings, each lasting 1.5 hours, with your career consultant. You'll receive ongoing phone and email support directly from your career consultant. 

Usually, these meetings span six months, but you and your advisor will jointly decide the best approach to maximise the benefits of each meeting. It can be a shorter, intensive programme or a more extended one, allowing ample time to address various aspects.

Who can participate in IDA Outplacement?

While IDA members have access to the service, outplacement programmes are not provided free of charge to all members.

IDA Forsikring collaborates with Topdanmark on supplemental unemployment insurance for our members. If you have supplemental unemployment insurance, you can participate in a counselling programme.

In some cases, employers cover the cost of the programme for terminated employees.

IMPORTANT: You should contact Topdanmark immediately upon receiving a termination notice, even if you have a notice period. Initiating outplacement as soon as possible is crucial to expedite your progress toward your next job.
