Processing times

Issuing policies 

When we get your insurance offer back from you we start processing it as soon as possible. We aim to complete all insurance offers within three weeks. However, during peak times the processing time may be longer.

What does that mean for me? 

If your insurance is to be effective right away, i.e. the policy does not need to be taken over from another insurance company, you will receive your policy from us within the given processing time.  However, this does not mean that you are insured in the meantime. You are covered from the date you have requested but not before we have received your insurance offer back from you. Car insurances take effect from the date of registration. House- and holiday home insurances become effective from the takeover date. If your insurance policy needs to be taken over from another company, we will send the cancellation papers to the other company within the specified processing time. You will then receive your policy about a week before it goes into effect with us. See the below table for a processing time example.

Answer to mails 

We aim to answer your mail within seven weekdays.

Example

The following is an example of when you can expect your insurance policy with IDA Forsikring goes into effect. 

• 15. of March IDA receives the insurance offer back from you. The insurance must be cancelled with short notice, meaning current month plus 30 days.
• 5. of April IDA requests cancellation of policy with your former insurance company.
• 1. of June Your insurance policy with IDA Forsikring goes into effect.
