Who can purchase insurance on idaforsikring.dk?

You can purchase insurance on idaforsikring.dk if you or someone in your household is a member of IDA. However, you must be at least 18 years old to buy insurance with IDA Forsikring. If you are under 18, you need parental consent to purchase the insurance.At idaforsikring.dk, we collaborate with multiple insurance companies to offer you and your family comprehensive coverage at affordable prices.

Receipt for online purchase of insurance from IDA Forsikring

When you purchase an insurance policy from IDA Forsikring online, you will receive a receipt via email immediately after your purchase. We do not store the document, so please keep a copy for your records.When you purchase insurance online with us, we record the information you enter about yourself. The data is shared with IDA Forsikring's partners so they can create your insurance. IDA Forsikring and our partners can use the information for customer administration and advice. You can always get more details about the current registration and correct any errors.IDA Forsikring uses cookies on idaforsikring.dk.

Check that the information is correct

If you provide incorrect information while purchasing insurance, your policy may be cancelled retroactively by Tryg.Incorrect information can also result in you receiving less or no compensation if an accident occurs.Therefore, you should always check that you have provided the correct information about yourself.

Do other insurance policies already cover you?

When purchasing insurance, be aware of whether you are already covered by similar insurance. If you have asked IDA Forsikring (on behalf of our partners) to cancel the insurance, we will handle it for you. Otherwise, you must ensure that you cancel your insurance with other insurance companies. If you have car insurance with another company, IDA Forsikring must always cancel it.

How long is an insurance offer valid?

An insurance offer is valid for 30 days. If you receive an offer for car and motorcycle insurance policies calculated without a licence plate, the prices are estimated. This means the price may change when you receive the final offer with the vehicle's licence plate.

When does the insurance take effect?

Your insurance takes effect at the agreed-upon time – but no earlier than the date of purchase confirmation on idaforsikring.dk.

Payment with Direct Debit (NETS) or paper invoice

You pay for your purchase on idaforsikring.dk by entering the bank details for the account from which you want the insurance paid. The amount will be deducted from your account when the insurance takes effect. When you purchase insurance from IDA Forsikring, you are automatically signed up for Direct Debit (NETS) on the account number you provide at the time of purchase. If you purchase insurance through a meeting or conversation with our employees or intermediaries, we will sign you up after an agreement.You will receive a paper invoice if you are not signed up for Direct Debit (Betalingsservice).
  • When paying via Direct Debit, we charge a fee of DKK 9.50 per insurance. 
  • The collection fee for payment by paper invoice is DKK 38.50.
  • If you do not pay the invoice on time, we will have to remind you of the payment. For each reminder letter, we charge a fee of DKK 100.00 to cover extra administrative costs.

Fees and charges on your insurance

There are statutory fees on your insurance:
  • You pay a state tax on car, motorcycle, and moped insurance policies.
  • You pay an insurance damage fee tax of 1.1% of the price for risk management insurance.
  • You pay a natural disaster tax on fire insurance for contents and buildings insurance.
  • You pay an environmental contribution of DKK 90 per year on liability insurance for personal and commercial vehicles.

How is the price of the insurance calculated?

The price of your insurance is calculated based on the information you provided and includes fees and taxes.

Your own self-service universe

After purchasing one or more insurances on idaforsikring.dk, you can log in to My PageIt's your personal self-service universe where you can find information about your current insurance policies and any damages.

Right of withdrawal for private insurance policies

You have the right to withdraw your purchase of private insurance. The right of withdrawal depends on three situations:
  1. You spoke with one of our insurance advisers when you bought your insurance.
  2. You did not speak with an insurance adviser but used our online insurance calculator when you bought your insurance.
  3. Your insurance has been changed, and you, therefore, have the right to withdraw the change.

When is the latest I can cancel?

You have a 14-day withdrawal period, allowing you to cancel your insurance within 14 days from the day you entered into the insurance agreement (refer to points 1-3 in the previous section).If you consulted one of our insurance advisers during the purchase, the period begins on either of the following occasions:
  1. The day you were informed about the purchase of the insurance.
  2. The day you received clear written information about the right of withdrawal.
For online purchases, the period starts on one of the following occasions:
  1. The day you were informed about the purchase of the insurance.
  2. The day you received the mandatory information, either via email or mail.

Special considerations for fire insurance

Do you wish to cancel fire insurance for your house, holiday home, or property? In that case, it's important to know the limitations outlined in the Financial Business Act §60.Under this provision, the right of withdrawal is restricted. You can only withdraw within the initial 14 days if you can provide documentation that you have already secured building fire insurance with retroactive effect from another company.

How to cancel

During the withdrawal period, it is necessary to inform us of your decision to withdraw your purchase. You can do so by writing a letter or sending an email.For proof that you notified us before the deadline, it's a good idea to send a registered letter and keep the receipt.Please send a letter confirming your cancellation of the purchase to:IDA Forsikring

Making a Complaint

If you are unhappy with a decision on compensation or have had a negative experience with us, you can file a complaint by contacting us.You may also contact Tryg Quality Department at kvalitet@tryg.dk. If you are still dissatisfied, you have the option to submit a complaint between 10:00 – 13:00:Insurance Complaints Board

In case of a dispute about the insurance agreement reaching court, a Danish court will decide the case under Danish law, following the rules outlined in the Administration of Justice Act regarding jurisdiction.If you reside in another EU country and want to file a complaint related to insurance purchase, you can use the EU Commission's online complaint portal.
