How long is the child covered by Children's Insurance?

Your child is covered by Child Insurance until she/he turns 18. After the child's 18th birthday, we recommend that she/he takes out an Accident Insurance.Read more about IDA Accident Insurance (bought before 1.6.2023)Read more about IDA Accident Insurance (bought after 1.6.2023)

What is a permanent disability injury?

The insurance covers both physical and psychological disability of 5% or more.

Physical permanent disability

Permanent disability coverage adresses the physical impairments following an accident that does not disappear during treatment, and the child must live with the rest of his life. There are several causes to injuries such as sports, traffic, and falling.

Psychological disability

Psychic permanent disability may be relevant if a member of the closest family of the child has been exposed to serious physical injuries, being exposed to latent danger or died, for example in a car accident, drowning or a home robbery.Check out insurance terms for more information about when the insurance covers.

Is there a difference between Child Insurance and Child Accident Insurance?

We have replaced the Child Accident Insurance with Child Insurance because it offers your child a better coverage. Is my child covered by eg the school and other institutions' insurance?

No. Previously, your child was covered by a public Accident Insurance, but this is not the case anymore. It is now more important than ever to have a private Accident Insurance covering your child if he or she is injured or gets ill. Child Insurance covers your child 24/7 - also in school and other institutions.

Does Child Insurance cover extreme sports?

Yes. All children under the age of 18 with Child Insurance are automatically covered by all kinds of sports without extra cost. However, you should be aware that dental trauma caused by martial arts is not covered.
If your child is over the age of 18, you should take out Extreme Sports as additional option, for instance when your child is a member of a club and practice a sport categorized as Extreme.
